2010 Vetting Procedure

For consideration of an auction horse, a written vet report must be provided with DIGITAL x-rays (see list of required views) for review by our vet, Dr. Brendon Furlong.  Initial x-rays should be sent along with a $50 initial review fee prior to Janauary 1, 2009 to:

Brendon Furlong and Associates
PO Box 16
101 Homestead Road
Oldwick, NJ  08858

It should be clearly indicated when sending x-rays to Dr. Furlong that the horse is being considered for the InterContinental Sport Horse Sales, LLC 2009 Auction. $50 fee should be paid upon initial view of x-rays.

After Janaury 1, 2009, x-rays should be sent via Federal Express or UPS to:
The Ridge Farm
14415 Palm Beach Point Blvd.
Wellington, FL   33414
Attention: Dr. Brendon Furlong

Once a horse is accepted as an Auction Horse, it is expected that the horse will arrive at The Ridge Farm at Palm Beach Point in Wellington, Florida, 10 days prior to the auction date. Upon arrival, horses should have a negative original Coggins Test no older than 6 months.  Horses should also arrive with current proof that all vaccinations are “up to date.”

At this time, further evaluation of the horse will be made my Dr.Furlong or one of his associates.  This limited exam will include examination of the heart, eyes, lungs and a basic neurological evaluation.   The horse will be viewed when working in a circle and flexion tests will be performed.

The fee for this evaluation will be $300 and must be paid by Credit Card or Bank Check to Dr. Brendon Furlong at the time of the evaluation.

InterContinental Sport Horse Sales and Dr. Brendon Furlong and Associates do, at this time, reserve the right to x-ray the horse in full again if  it is deemed that the x-rays provided are NOT suitable for inclusion in the Auction. If this is our requirement for further presentation in the Auction, you will be advised accordingly, and the responsibility of payment will be that of the consignor/seller. Single x-rays will be billed at a rate of $50 by Dr. Brendon Furlong and Associates or a maximum of $850 for a full set of 18 views  as described below.
